Comparing JWs to Jews

some have asked how my views and convictions have changed over the past 15 years or so after leaving the watchtower behind to return to my familys roots and embrace judaism.

the best way to explain things is to allow both the religion of the watchtower and my life as a jew today to stand side-by-side for comparison.

while i cant guarantee this will help prove to others that the jehovahs witnesses are truly a crazy religious group, i am sure it will prove to most that jews probably are, and are quite aware of it.

I find it hard to believe that Terrence Howard isn't awake.

for those who don't know, terrence howard is an actor who has had some exposure to "the truth" and has spoken positively about the jw religion in a past interview saying he would become a jw if he could.. i've started watching wayward pines where terrence howard stars as the town sheriff.

there are some striking cult parallels between the show and some facets of jw cult culture.

~ people who try to leave wayward pines are subject to punishment.

Do you have a JW hero?

when i say jw hero i mean a jw who courageously did what was right despite the indoctrination and peer pressure to conform to cultishness.

i have an unknown jw hero that i've never met but only heard of from an experience relayed to me about an incident at a jw funeral.. i was told that at a jw funeral internment, a non-jw put a wreath in the shape of a cross on the grave.

shortly thereafter a jw elder came up and removed the wreath.

are my heroes. The ones I looked up to are now gone, there were a few in the 60's and 70's.

I wonder is there any coalition in the increase of witnesses in a country when

they have a increase in immigrants.

Since the relaxation of the Belgium nationality law more than 1.3 million migrants have

acquired citizenship. In 2007, there were 1.38 million foreign-born residents in Belgium.

The increase here in the USA come from immigrants.

you made,"the WT is ant-Semitic, what is missing from all those people dressed in different

garb of different nationalities". And yes my Jewish friend never got to wear his head covering

in the KH or a beard and prayer shawl..

I believe he only became a JW because of his wife, she was black. They divorced and he have

not been seen since. This happen around 1970...

I never got the opportunity to sit and talk with him, he was a elder and

I was new in the organization. But i was curious why he became a JW.

I thought if this man believe it's the truth, by GOD it must be...

i saw an instagram post showing a short clip of a talk being given in one of our southern states.

the talk clip showed speaker making the statement, "jehovah doesn't want anyone to know satans real name, jehovah hates satan so much, he doesn't even want his name mentioned" .
